# Complete project initiation form

You will need to know some basic information about your project for the **Project Initiation form**, such as

## Required information

Name
: A unique name for this project.

Start and end date
: Expected start and end dates for the project.

Description
: A short introductory description of the project for someone hearing about it for the first time.

Sensitivity tier
: Working with the {ref}`project data manager <role_project_data_manager>`, decide on the appropriate sensitivity tier for this project, balancing technical and policy controls against the research needs of the project.
  You can use {ref}`this guidance <determine_security_tier>` to help.
  You will need to write a short justification of your selected tier as part of the initiation form.

Responsible people
: Working with the {ref}`project data manager <role_project_data_manager>`, nominate a minimal group of people who will, to the best of their ability, ensure that the project compiles with appropriate data handling regulations.
  This group will need to ensure that the legal and contractual needs of the Turing are met without obstructing the research needs of the project.
  This should include at least one representative from each of:
    - the Trusted Research team
    - the Data Protection team
    - the Project team

Responsibility delegation
: Details of who can approve requests for actions such as movement of data or creation/deletion of the TRE.
  These actions will all be performed by a TRE administrator and each action will be logged.

## Signing the form
