## 👀 Why use a TRE?

In order to work with sensitive data, projects at the Alan Turing Institute must work inside a Trusted Research Environment (TREs).
At the Alan Turing Institute, we use the [**Turing Data Safe Haven**](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/data-safe-haven) as the underlying infrastructure to deploy and run TREs on the Microsoft Azure cloud.
