# Roles

For any project using a TRE at Turing, there should be a {ref}`role_project_team` who liase with the {ref}`role_tresa` to ensure all the {ref}`tasks` are completed.

## Project Team

The project team that will carry out the research project.
We require a designated staff member at the Turing with overall responsibility for creating and monitoring the project to be a point of contact for the Trusted Research Environments Service Area (TRESA). Usually this is the **Project Manager**.

This person should consult the {ref}`project_team_guidance` and can assign responsibility to carry out Project Team {ref}`tasks` as they see fit.

## Trusted Research Environments Service Area (TRESA)

A designated team at the Turing who are responsible for deploying, managing and monitoring all projects using TREs - usually members of the Research Engineering Group (REG).
You can contact the team at `trustedresearch@turing.ac.uk`.

- New team members should get set up by following the {ref}`tresa_onboarding` steps.
- The person leading TRESA should consult the {ref}`tresa_lead` page.
- When getting started with a new project, consult the {ref}`tresa_new_project` page.
- Team members can discuss how to perform the {ref}`tasks` in the `#tresa` channel on Turing slack.
