# Facilitate data egress

> This task is the responsibility of {ref}`role_tresa`.

- You must be able to receive a secure email.
  We recommend the [Egress secure email](https://www.egress.com/) service, which is free to setup for sending and receiving secure emails.
- You must know the public IP address(es) that are used by the {ref}`role_project_team`'s chosen authorised egress contact that will be downloading the data. This can be obtained by contacting the authorised egress contact named in the signed copy of the `Turing TRE Data Egress Process` form in the `data egress` folder on sharepoint.

The {ref}`role_tresa` representative should facilitate data egress for the {ref}`role_project_team`'s chosen authorised egress contact to carry out. To facilitate this, do the following:

1. Go to the [Data Safe Haven System Manager instructions](https://data-safe-haven.readthedocs.io/en/v4.2.2/roles/system_manager/manage_data.html#data-egress) for egress (make sure you are reading the version of the docs appropriate to the deployed SRE) and follow the guide on how to generate a SAS URL

2. Look in the [TRESA Sharepoint](https://thealanturininstitute.sharepoint.com/sites/tresa/SitePages/Home.aspx) for the signed TRE Data Egress Process Form in the project folder.
   Send the SAS URL via the secure email service to the {ref}`role_project_team`'s chosen authorised egress contact.
   Include in this email a link to the {ref}`perform_data_egress_contact` instructions to upload the data via Azure Storage Explorer for the contact to follow.

3. If the contact has any issues, help them troubleshoot.
