(perform_data_ingress)= # Perform data ingress ```{toctree} :hidden: true :maxdepth: 2 azure_storage_explorer.md sftp.md azcopy.md other_methods.md ``` > This task is the responsibility of {ref}`role_tresa`. ```{important} - You must be able to receive a secure email. We recommend the [Egress secure email](https://www.egress.com/) service, which is free to setup for sending and receiving secure emails. - You must know the public IP address(es) that are used by the {ref}`role_project_team`'s chosen [DPR](https://data-safe-haven.readthedocs.io/en/v4.2.2/roles/data_provider_representative/index.html) if they will be uploading the data. This can be obtained from the signed copy of the `Turing TRE Data Ingress Process` form in the `data ingress` folder on sharepoint. - If the DPR has not yet provided a public IP, email them to request this. If they are unsure, ask them to Google "What's my IP" ``` Several methods of bringing data into the TRE are possible. Each of these involves copying the data to a secure [Azure storage account](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-account-overview). We strongly recommend using the {ref}`perform_data_ingress_ase` method wherever possible, but you should use the method designated by the signed `TRE Data Ingress Process` form. Whichever method you use, you'll need to coordinate with the DPR. If the DPR encounters any issues, you should help them troubleshoot. ## Project specific data ingress methods - The EDoN data wrangling project uses {ref}`azcopy_gc`
