# Track budget

Most Turing TRE projects, are set up to use a separate Azure subscription from the Safe Haven Management Environment (SHM). Where this is the case, TRESA members should be able to view the subscription with the [Research compute tab (RCtab)](https://rctab-turing-prod.azurewebsites.net/) website by logging in with their Turing SSO. This can be used to track costs and provide any updates requested by the {ref}`role_project_team`.

Tracking the budget of active SREs is one of the {ref}`regular tasks <tresa_regular_tasks>` TRESA should carry out.

Some Turing TREs, may use the same Azure subscription as the SHM, which is `[Prod] Safe Haven Management V4`. *Last updated 20th April 2023.*

To inspect the costs of these TREs, navigate to the Azure Portal and click on the resource groups associated with the SRE in question. You can use this as a basis to estimate the overall cost of the TRE, excluding components that form the SHM.
