Create TRE GitHub issue#

This task is the responsibility of Trusted Research Environments Service Area (TRESA).

TRESA should set up a GitHub issue containing a checklist that tracks the status of the TRE according to the project Tasks.

  1. Create a new issue on the trusted-research repo using the TRE deployment template and fill out the following:

    • Project name: An informative name for the TRE project

    • TRE name: The core component of the TRE we are deploying is a Data Safe Haven “Secure Research Environment” (SRE). Choose a short <SRE ID> to identify the SRE. This can have a maximum of seven alphanumeric characters.

    • Data Safe Haven version: This should probably be the latest release of the Data Safe Haven you intend to deploy

    • Data Safe Haven SRD image: This should probably be the latest built image at [Prod] Safe Haven VM Images > RG_VMIMAGES_GALLERY in the Azure Portal that corresponds with the DSH version. You can check the this by inspecting the “Build commit hash” of the image, which should be the last commit present in the release

    • Project SharePoint folder link: The folder you created

  2. Add this issue to the “TRESA - SRE board” in the relevant column.

    • The project board is accessible at https://github.com/orgs/alan-turing-institute/projects/25/views/1?layout=board

  3. Assign a specific individual from Trusted Research Environments Service Area (TRESA) who will be responsible for this TRE and tracking changes to it for the duration of its lifecycle. It will be this person’s responsibility to perform all subsequest operations, or to assign another TRESA team member for specific operations if they are unavailable.

  4. From here on, you can use this GitHub issue to check off all the Tasks as they are completed, and move the issue into the relevant column on the project board as you progress.
